Stephen J. Pronai served the citizens of Madison County from 1985 to 1992 when he was hired as an Assistant Prosecutor and from July, 1996 to the present as Prosecuting Attorney.
He was raised in Centerville, Ohio and graduated from Centerville High School in 1973. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Wright State University and his law degree from Ohio Northern University. Mr. Pronai was accepted into the Ohio Bar in 1984, the Federal Bar in 1985 and to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1998.
He was an Assistant Greene County Prosecutor from 1993 through 1995. He practiced law in Madison County with the law firm of Tanner, Mathewson & Hansgen from 1995 to July, 1996.
During his 20 year career as a Prosecutor, Stephen has represented the State in thousands of criminal and civil cases in all courts in Greene and Madison Counties. He has also argued cases before the Twelfth District Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court.
Mr. Pronai is honored to be affiliated with the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association, National College of District Attorneys, Madison County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, the Madison County Township Association, and the National Organization for Victim Assistance.
