Deer Creek Township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township clerk, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the clerkship or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.

The Deercreek Township Board of Trustees meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at the Lafayette Fire House. Any changes to this are published in the Madison Press.
The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public.
Reports are given at each meeting by the township employee and bills are reviewed prior to payment.

The roads and cemetery have been mowed continuously all summer and are in excellent shape. The employees have done an outstanding job.
The bid has been awarded and construction should start next week with completion assured by this fall's election.
