The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township clerk, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the clerkship or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.

Jefferson Township Firefighters has initiated a program whereby those in need of a smoke detector can obtain one from the fire department.  Residents of Jefferson and Fairfield Townships can call the fire station at 614-879-8265 to make arrangements to have a detector installed.  It is the hope of the firefighters that this program can be long lasting.  At present, supplies are limited and will be on a first come first served basis.

The Jefferson Township Board of Trustees wanted to develop a park for the community. The township owned 10 acres of bottom land and wooded area running along Little Darby Creek.......click here for info!
