Special Olympics/Recreation

Adults and children who have developmental disabilities may be interested in participating in recreational services provided by the Madison County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Recreation programs are provided in the afternoons, evenings and weekends to eligible individuals who are enrolled in MCBDD programs. The goal of the recreational services is to help individuals develop skills to more independently use their leisure time. 

Eligibility….Athletes must be at least eight years of age and identified by an agency or professional as having one of the following conditions: intellectual disability, cognitive delays as measured by formal assessment or significant learning or vocational problems due to cognitive delay that require or have required special instruction.

field trips
