Animal Bite and Rabies Investigation

RABIES is a serious, and many times deadly, disease that can be carried by several types of animals in Madison County.  Bites involving dogs, cats, wild animals, or any other potential carrier of rabies are required to be reported to the Health Department. We investigate each incident, and require either quarantine or testing of the animal, according to our current and state regulations. Our goal is to prevent the transmission of rabies to humans.  To read more about the laws and rules for the management of rabies and bites in Madison County, please click here.
