How Can I Request and Schedule an Inspection?
You can request an inspection from Franklin County Public Health by filling out a simple online request form or by calling their offices.

BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 7, 2021, FRANKLIN COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH WILL REQUIRE THAT INSPECTION REQUESTS BE RECEIVED BEFORE 12:00 P.M. FOR NEXT DAY INSPECTIONS. ANY REQUESTS RECEIVED AFTER THAT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE SCHEDULED FOR THE NEXT DAY.
Where do I Register to do Plumbing In Madison County?
You must register with Madison County Public Health to do plumbing work in Madison County. Franklin County Public Health performs the inspections, but you must still register with and purchase permits from Madison County Public Health.

Where Can I Purchase a Medical Gas Permit?
All medical gas permits are purchased from and issued by Franklin County Public Health.
When do I Need a Plumbing Permit?
Plumbing permits are required if there is any alteration of the piping system, before the installation of a replacement water heater, and before the installation of a tub or shower valve
When do I not Need a Permit?
You do not need a permit for the residential installation of a faucet or toilet. You do, however, need a permit for the residential installation of a shower or bathtub. All commercial work requires a permit.
Can a Home Owner Purchase a Permit?
Home owners can purchase a residential permit if they are residing in the home where the work will occur. Home owners cannot purchase a permit for commercial work.
